Doug and I love leaving extra tips. Once, we were in a waffle house and the staff broke out into a fight...yes, you got it. Our waitress was not involved in the fight, but was in tears. We never got our food b/c of the situation. When we paid for our coffee, my husband handed the young woman a $20 tip. She was shocked. She told us we would never know what this meant. Apparently, she was really struggling and it was exactly what she needed.
ReplyDeleteEven when my waiter/waitress gives bad service I try to remember there could be something going on that I do not know about. Some tragedy in their life they are dealing with.

I love the expression of leaving a big tip. especially if it's for breakfast. It's usually such a low cost meal, the servers don't end up with much of a tip. It's a tough job and well I agree. Leaving a smile is always a good thing.
