I also just read your "Going the Extra Mile" post and am amazed. It reminds me of a time when Daddy found a pocketbook with $6000 in it inside a phonebooth at the Ohio State Fair. This was in the early 50's when that was a whole lot of money. He took it to the Information Booth where there was a woman who was quite distraught. After she was able to identify the purse as hers, Daddy was able to personally return the money to her. She of course, offered to give him a reward which he declined, in spite of the fact that we most certainly could have used the money. He often speaks of this and everytime he does there is a look of both pride and humility in his eyes.
